What are the most popular dividend stocks for long-term investors? And at what price are these stocks a buy? DividendStocks.Cash owns thousands of purchase limits for more than 650 of the world’s most popular stocks, answering both questions from members’ point of view.
In DividendStocks.Cash, members can enter buy and sell limits for any stock. If a limit is reached, the price alarm informs you automatically by mail.
The list contains the 30 stocks with the most buy limits. The more buy limits a stock has, the more popular it is. The stock with the most buy limits receives a popularity of 1. All other stocks measure themselves against this stock. If another stock has half of the buy limits, its popularity is 0.5.
In addition, the average buy limit per stock is calculated. This corresponds to the approximate price at which the majority of the members are willing to buy. The resulting discount to the current stock price is also calculated as well as the comparison between the current rank and the rank of the previous analysis.
Only the limits of the full members, which correspond to at least half of the current stock price, are considered.
And here comes the list of the 30 most popular dividend stocks. By the way: one stock does not pay dividends. Do you spot it? ?

The most popular stock right now is Microsoft, which is close to an all-time high and, like other stocks mentioned here, is in one of my portfolios, where it shines with impressive capital gains and a personal dividend yield of 4.25%. Thanks to an annual dividend increase of a respectable 10%, investors benefit from ever higher dividends as the holding period increases. By the way, Microsoft paid out the highest dividend ever in 2005, when a special dividend of USD 3.00 was paid. It seems only a matter of time before the regular dividend reaches this level.
However, Microsoft’s current stock price has risen sharply, with the result that the stock appears to have a high valuation on the basis of a P/E ratio of just below 28 and a P/C ratio of 20.5. Accordingly high is the desired discount of 30.4% the members which to buy the stock.
With 3M and Johnson & Johnson, two of the dividend classics ranked second and third. After 3M’s stock dropped significantly, the overvaluation of the stock over the years was reduced to a minimum and the dividend yield rose to 3.15%.
Accordingly, the purchase limits at 3M are narrowly placed with a discount of only 8%. If you want to know whether 3M is a purchase for you, you might want to watch this video. Compared to 3M, Johnson & Johnson’s stock has performed better in recent months despite complaints about asbestos-contaminated baby powder.
By 14 ranks Novo Nordisk moves up to the 15th position. Similar to 3M until recently, Novo Nordisk was clearly overvalued in 2016 and lost significantly in value after bad news. Today, the world market leader for insulin is fairly valued and pays an attractive dividend of 2.5%.
The stock of Texas Instruments, on the other hand, slipped 11 ranks and now occupies 23rd position. In the Dividend Turbo you see that the current dividend yield of Texas Instruments at 2.61% is above the historical average.
Finally to the top newcomer of the top 30: the stock of Church & Dwight propelled itself to 13th place. Similar to Microsoft, this quality stock has continued to perform very well. The desired discount of around 25% to buy the stock is correspondingly high. At first glance such a discount may seem utopian, but as can be seen from the examples of 3M and Novo Nordisk, the stock price reacts more sensitively to bad news the thinner the air becomes upwards. Let’s hope that Church & Dwight shareholders are spared from these.
