Wouldn’t it be nice to have a second monthly income without any action on your behalf? An income without the need of daily work and without the fear of ever loosing your job? This can be achieved by simply investing in dividend stocks.
Many people around the world successfully follow this path, and some of them share their experience on the web, so anyone interested can act as they do. I call these bloggers Income Heroes. Each month I visit their websites and collect the data they publish, namely monthly dividend and option income including the market value of their portfolio if published. This data is analysed and presented to proof once again by “big numbers” that they are on the right track. I also publish some rankings to motivate Income Heroes and interested readers alike to continue or start investing in their financial future.
The monthly income history of each blogger is available in detail in an interactive table including an interactive chart. The table also contains links to each blogger’s website.
Currently the progress of 36 bloggers coming from the US, Canada, Europe and Australia is traced. The majority is focused on dividend income, but about a fifth is also selling options.

In November, Wachstumswerte.Net took the lead in 3 of 4 categories, which makes me especially happy because I am the one behind it. On my German blog there is a detailed monthly evaluation as well as a video on YouTube.
The result of the months in 2018 shows that November was not a flash in the pan. Cash flow in addition to dividend income increased significantly, mainly due to option income. I am optimistic that December will be similarly successful
Among other things, stocks are so attractive because they can be used to generate recurring income. The lucky Top 3 with the highest income in November are:
Option selling as an additional source of income can significantly increase the current income of your portfolio. However, the opportunities for increased income are partly offset by additional risks and additional time spent compared to dividends. A brief comparison between dividends and option selling can be found here.
It is difficult to make it into the top 3 as a pure dividend investor. Nevertheless, DividendHawk made it last month. In November he reached an impressive 5th place.
The amount of income highly depends on the market value of your portfolio. The higher its market value, the easier it is to generate high income. However, comparing income to market value allows to calculate a yield which is independent of the porftolio size. Here the 3 financial bloggers with the highest net yield in the last month:
This time we have 2 options sellers among the top 3. The option income boosts both income and yield. Yet, with My Dividend Dynasty a pure dividend income investor made it among the top 3.
The risks of option selling become visible in the 2018 annual overview of Stalflare. Over a period of 11 months, 8 months were successful, but in 3 months a loss was recorded. Those who engage in option selling will inevitably experience bad months. It is important to be able to deal with this and to make a profit on the bottom line. This is the case for Stalflare.
The yield of a single month is only a small part of the long road to financial freedom. Even more important is a stable increase in income over the months. For this reason, this analysis looks for the stability of income growth over the last 12 months. The size of the portfolio does not matter.
The stability of the income is expressed by a number from +1 to -1. If the income fluctuates strongly the metric’s value is close to zero. If the income fluctuates strongly or even declines, the stability is low. If the income increases – which should be anyone’s objective – the metric’s value approaches +1.
And here are the top 3 bloggers with the highest income stability:
Compared to the previous month, Osztalèk Csaszar and Tawcan exchanged the first two places. Pension with dividend defends his excellent third place. Since the income from dividends is easier to plan than income from option selling, pure dividend portfolios have a clear advantage here. The best placed blogger doing option selling is myself on 5th place.
In order to achieve financial freedom, income should not only grow steadily, but also as strongly as possible. Therefore, the income of the last 12 months is compared with the income of the previous 12-month period. This evaluation is, so to speak, the supreme discipline and can be found on many financial blogs.
And here are the financial blogs with the highest growth rates in a 12-month comparison:
Nothing has changed in the placement compared to the previous month. Please note that the increase in income can have different origins. In my case, the high growth is primarily due to the continued successful option trading of the last 12 months, while the Dividend Pig benefits from a high investment sum. For Stockles, the year-on-year comparison shows an impressive increase in dividend income.
If you take a closer look at the evaluation of all financial bloggers, you will see that there is much to be found even beyond the top 3 positions. And finally, the placement is secondary. It is crucial that all participants take their financial future into their own hands and thus have the best prospects for a self-determined, financially secure future.
